Senior Leadership Talent with Technical and Engineering backgrounds

Chameleon International first started working with this global logistics group in the Americas region, with the client requiring senior level leadership talent within technical and engineering disciplines in Ecuador and then across Latin America.

Initially, Chameleon were mandated to search for an Engineering Manager, responsible for the development and implementation of the engineering department at a greenfield, deep water port.  During start-up and construction phase the successful candidate was responsible for leading the development of all Engineering policy and procedures and operating as the internal stake holder for Engineering design.

Chameleon were instructed to headhunt the best in class Port and Terminals Engineering managers across Latin America targeting major competitor organizations as well as the independent port and terminals operators.  Local candidates were unlikely to be successful. It was essential for Chameleon to operate as a brand ambassador for our client, approaching the market on their behalf and headhunting passive candidates out of similar roles.  We utilised our existing network in the region, using our extensive language capability to identify and qualify candidates in both Spanish and English.

Specifically, we headhunted candidates out of agreed target competitor organisations, mapped the regional seaports and terminals businesses in Latin American (over 250.000 TEU’s move/capacity or Multipurpose) and targeted and identified Spanish speaking Engineering managers living and working outside of Latin America.

We were able to gain access to the both the local candidate market, and additional international profiles who were happy to relocate to the area, presenting a comprehensive shortlist of candidates to our client.  We qualified candidates via the phone, video-conferencing and also face to face, during travels to South America.

Following the successful completion of the project, we were given further search mandates to work on throughout Latin America, and more recently have been instructed to work on a Market Intelligence project for the same client in Asia.
