Helping an OSD manufacturing company expand

Context

Based in Ireland, our client is a world leading developer and commercial supplier of specialty medicines to the global market. Following a large-scale expansion of their OSD manufacturing facility and new sterile fill finish line, they were looking to appoint senior-level individuals with key skillsets in quality, engineering and operations to support the ongoing growth and running of the site. Four specific positions which they were looking to fill were CEO, Head of Quality, Head of Operations and Head of Engineering, as well as building an understanding of the potential pipeline of talent for future hiring as the company expands.

Solution from Chameleon

As a solution to the challenge of engaging skilled personnel to staff key positions within the new manufacturing facility, Chameleon proposed a Market Mapping exercise.

Chameleon set about building an understanding of both the pharmaceuticals industry and of the candidate landscape – spanning Ireland and the UK/Europe – on behalf of the client. This was focused on candidates with a skillset within aseptic fill and sterile manufacturing, and ranged from director level candidates to senior engineers. This market map was conducted with a view to allowing the business to use the data to make the necessary hires from candidates highlighted in Chameleon’s research.

Method of Execution

Chameleon appointed a project team internally and proactively engaged senior-level professionals from engineering and operations backgrounds within the pharmaceuticals and life sciences industries in Ireland and the UK/Europe. These individuals were then qualified in order to assess their interest, motivation and relevance in line with the brief.

Working to strict and pre-determined SLAs, Chameleon were able to deliver shortlists of candidates that were suited to our client’s requirements – whilst also sharing a broader awareness of the competitor landscape and observations made throughout the European pharmaceuticals market.
